 Dr. Maria San Martin is the founding physician and lead chiropractor at SMAC & Injury Rehab, bringing over 30 years of experience in chiropractic care and patient education. She began her practice in Puerto Rico in 1992, where she built a successful family chiropractic clinic and laid the foundation for a lifelong dedication to wellness and injury prevention.

In addition to private practice, Dr. San Martin worked with major pharmaceutical and medical companies such as SmithKline Beecham, Baxter, CooperVision, and Medtronic. In these roles, she collaborated closely with occupational health physicians to provide chiropractic care and help prevent workplace injuries.

After relocating to Florida nearly a decade ago, Dr. San Martin continued her work in several injury clinics. It was during this time that she developed a strong passion not only for helping patients recover from car accidents—but for educating them on how to protect themselves and their families before accidents happen. 

Driven by that passion, Dr. San Martin became a certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (T800083) through the National Child Passenger Safety Certification program, the same nationally recognized training used by police officers and firefighters to ensure children are properly secured in vehicles.

This certification, combined with her clinical experience, inspired her to found Drive Safe Be Safe, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free car seat safety talks, demonstrations, and community outreach to prevent injuries and save lives.
